LITERARY AND TALENT AGENCY

CATALYST
LITERARY AND TALENT AGENCY
  • Represents Creative Companies and individual Producers,  Writers, Artists, Directors and Designers in Animation, all Digital Media, Motion Pictures and Television.

  • Is at the convergence of Animated Computer Generated Imagery, Traditional Cell Animation, and Interactive Media.

  • Is located in Southern California near all major studios, networks, and related media enterprises.

  • Is licensed as a Talent Agency by the State of California, Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, License Number TA-3249 and is franchised by the Writers Guild of America.

OUR MISSION

  • To provide agency services we would most want if we were the client (whether that client is a company or an individual).
  • To define and then exceed the upper limit of excellence and value in the artists we bring to the community.

WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION BY:

  • Honoring two promises:
  1. A flawless reputation for honesty in all dealings and
  2. Passionate and enthusiastic presentation of the artist and the artist’s work.
  • Guarding the most favorable ratio of clients to agent we have ever known (which requires the most intensive review of each prospective client).

Founded Catalyst in 1996 and is the Chief Executive Officer.

A profile of Harvey in NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE praised his "boyish enthusiasm" and "his strategy to win the hearts and minds" of prospective artist clients. MSNBC/CNBC & THE WALL STREET JOURNAL BUSINESS SECTION ONLINE hailed Harvey as "dean of new-media agents." And, the SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE captured him in a word: "passion".

It is a challenge to capture the eclectic Harvey in a word: with a philosophy degree from Yale, a law degree from Stanford, he ran an international animation studio and worked as a business affairs executive for Columbia and TriStar; HOWEVER, his calling of many years – his "passion" – is to agent and to work with his colleagues so that Catalyst accomplishes its mission. Harvey’s commitment to artist advocacy extends beyond the elite Catalyst client list: he writes extensively on subjects relating to the advancement of artists’ and, increasingly, educators’ interests.

Please see Harvey's resume for more information and visit our Library Catalog of his writings.
