LOOK FORWARD

First,   LOOK BACK

From "A Digital Pioneer’s Day In The Sun", MSNBC/CNBC&The Wall Street Journal, by Emory Thomas Jr.:

"[O]ne day [in about 1982], a couple game developers walked into Harrison’s office with an Apple floppy disk. What they showed him on the small screen that day was an adventure game, not unlike a very ‘primitive’ version of ‘Myst,’ he says. ‘It was an immediate epiphany,’ says Harrison. ‘I just had this sense that the media were going to converge . . . in retrospect, I am absolutely astounded at the intensity of my confidence.’"

Now,  LOOK FORWARD

Harrison continues to be "absolutely astounded at the intensity" of his confidence of what he sees ahead. It may be one of his defining characteristics.

This area of the Catalyst website will be devoted to our

LOOK FORWARD

and what we hope and believe we have to

LOOK FORWARD TO.

EDUCATOR RIGHTS ADVOCACY

AS WE LOOK FORWARD we see the convergence of technology and education, just as technology converged with audio/visual entertainment or theater early in the twentieth century in the forms of radio, phonograph, motion pictures and television.

The convergence of technology and education will change education radically and forever. Catalyst plans to be in the middle of this change, as always, idealistically protecting and advancing the interests of those creating the essential content: in this emergent area, the educator.

A LOOK AT DIGITAL
GAME DESIGN

"Friends and colleagues in the digital media assemble formally and informally, with intoxicants and without, with visionary insight and wild incoherence: all to try to grasp a treasure that starts with the willing suspension of disbelief and ends in the crescendo of emotional impact." From the article "Looking For Leo . . . And Beyond". Please see our most recent thoughts:

A LOOK INSIDE THE MINDS OF ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY AGENTS: A FICTIONAL DIALOG

A project of this agency is to call attention to the need for organized training by educational institutions of literary and talent agents in the entertainnment fields and to help address this need. As in other human service callings like law and medicine, the values and goals of the professional deeply influence and provide the framework for the kind and quality of care given. As a starting point for a program in the training of agents, we provide this fictional examination of values and goals:
